Sheikh Al-Khanjar performs Friday prayers at the Great Imam Abu Hanifa Mosque in Al-A'dhamiyah
The president of Al-Seyada Alliance, Sheikh Khamis Al-Khanjar, performed Friday prayers at the Great Imam Abu Hanifa Al-Nu'man Mosque in the Al-A'dhamiyah area in Baghdad.
The Friday sermon delivered by Sheikh Dr. Abdul Wahab Ahmed Al-Taha in the presence of Sheikh Al-Khanjar, in which he called for speeding up the adoption of the general amnesty law to redress the thousands of innocent people who arrested for the crime of the secret informant and false informants, as a mercy for their families, who tasted the two things due to the absence of the breadwinner.
During his sermon, Al-Taha pointed out the necessity for Sunnis to have a code through which they can preserve their religion, rulings, and personal affairs with a personal status law, like others, addressing the government and parliament on the necessity of considering this matter to preserve the unity of the people of this country and establish the principle of peaceful coexistence among its components.
After Friday prayers, the chief scholar of the Iraqi Fiqh Council, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Taha, received Sheikh Khamis Al-Khanjar at the council’s headquarters, and in the presence of several senior scholars and Sheiks and discussed several files related to the general amnesty and personal status laws and the repercussions of those laws on the popular scene and the Fiqh Council confirmed its rejection and denunciation of all attempts to undermine the Sunni leaders, especially after the recent targeting of Sheikh Al-Khanjar, stressing their support for him and his national positions towards his family and people.
Sheikh Al-Khanjar, stressed the status of the Fiqh Council and its symbolism as a reference for Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah in Iraq and its active role in preserving the unity of the country, praising its efforts in the preservation of Islamic identity and culture from the dangers of distortion and change.
