Sheikh Al-Khanjar recalls the fate of thousands of forcibly disappeared
On the International Day of the Elimination of Enforced Disappearance, the president of Al-Seyada Party, Sheikh Khamis Al-Khanjar, renewed his call to know the fate of thousands of forcibly disappeared people from the governorates of Anbar, Salah al-Din, Nineveh, Kirkuk, Diyala, and the areas north of Babylon and the Baghdad Belt, who disappeared during the war on terrorism.
The president of Al-Seyada Party stressed that the Iraqi government's approval of the draft law to combat enforced disappearance places the House of Representatives under great responsibility in legislating a law that criminalizes enforced disappearance and includes it as an independent crime in national legislation, indicating that knowing the fate of the victims of this heinous crime, compensating those affected by it, and holding its perpetrators accountable is a national, humanitarian, and moral responsibility that requires a serious stance from all state institutions.
Sheikh Al-Khanjar called for serious and continuous work to uncover the truth and provide justice to the families of the forcibly disappeared, stressing that this issue will not be forgotten and will remain present until full justice is achieved.
