Sheikh Khamis Farhan Ali Al-Khanjar<\/strong> belongs to the Arab Albu Issa tribe of the Tayy, whose lands extend across vast areas of northern and western Iraq.<\/p>\n

He was born into a large family in Fallujah, western Iraq, well-known for trade and business. For decades, his family has been renowned as one whose guesthouse never closed, welcoming everyone from inside and outside Iraq.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Sheikh Al-Khanjar firmly believes in the words of the poet Al-Mutanabbi:<\/p>\n

“Even if our ancestors were noble,<\/strong>
we do not rely on lineage alone.<\/strong>“<\/em><\/p>\n

From an early stage, Sheikh Khamis Al-Khanjar personally oversaw a wide range of large humanitarian projects in Iraq \u2014 during the years of economic sanctions and continuing after the brutal U.S. invasion. He initially invested in thousands of students whose education he personally financed. Many of them today hold distinguished academic and administrative positions inside and outside Iraq. He also launched extensive humanitarian, relief, and medical programs that spanned across Iraq.<\/p>\n

In addition, he established and supported numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening Iraq\u2019s unity and addressing the consequences of the U.S. occupation.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Al-Khanjar also founded several active media institutions that have become influential in Iraq\u2019s political and social landscape.<\/p>\n

His positions against the U.S. occupation of Iraq, against those who came with it, and his strong support for Palestine\u2019s right to resist Israeli occupation and crimes, have made him a prominent figure engaged with major political issues beyond Iraq.<\/p>\n

Today, Sheikh Al-Khanjar leads the largest Sunni Arab political alliance in Iraq, enjoying broad popular support that crosses sectarian and social divisions.<\/p>\n
